In this workshop, you will learn how to make a hardcover notebook with an exposed stitched spine (coptic binding). After a brief introduction, we will begin by folding the individual sections and preparing them for sewing. Sewing multiple sections can feel a bit challenging at first, so we will go through the process together step by step.

Once the book block is finished, it will be pressed and glued. While it dries, we will prepare the hardcovers. Here you can choose from a variety of covering papers or book cloths.

Finally, we will attach the hardcovers to the book block. With the skills you learn in this workshop, you’ll be able to create your own books at home.

All materials are included in the costs as well as drinks and snacks.
Suitable for beginners, no prior skills are required.

Cancellation Policy
If you are unable to join the workshop you booked, feel free to give your place to somebody else. In case this is not possible, we offer to pick up a „material bag“, containing the materials we used in the workshop and a guide, so you can create the book(s) by yourself. Please note, that any bookbinding tools or glue are not included in the bag.
